EODEX contracted to oversee identification, removal and disposal of a marine unexploded ordnance (UXO) at live gas pipeline.
EODEX, a leading provider of seabed clearance services to the global energy industry, was delighted to be awarded a contract by a subsea data service company on behalf of an energy major to support a key pipeline project.
EODEX was engaged to identify, safely remove, and dispose of a confirmed UXO tightly lodged under a gas pipeline which remained live throughout the operation. The project was delivered safely and successfully, and met all requirements.
Absolute certainty on the type of UXO was critical to the proposed removal strategy. Once EODEX was certain of the type of UXO, it devised a safe clearance protocol taking into account the need to protect the pipeline infrastructure.
As an integral part of the project team, EODEX worked closely with the vessel, WROV and infrastructure owners to implement the correct execution strategy, and ultimately, programme manage the project to a successful and safe conclusion.
The one-team delivery model was essential to the success of the whole operation and EODEX was proud of the way the project was started and completed.
Stuart Black, EODEX’s Group Managing Director commented, “We were delighted to be engaged on this scope of work. A great opportunity which played to our strengths and provided the opportunity to showcase our ability to execute safely and efficiently when working collaboratively towards an end goal.”
